Jr. Developer and Web Programmer

We are accepting applications for a full-time or part-time Jr. Developer and Web Programmer for Absorbent, Ink., a premier online provider of promotional products and corporate gifts.

We have several ongoing projects that involve developing Web applications in PHP and MySQL and are in need of a dynamic employee to add to the staff with these skills. You will work closely with our Web Development and Design teams to design and build database applications and dynamic Web sites. Experience with XHTML, CSS and other open-source programming and Web development standards is desired.

Position Requirements:

  • Knowledge and practice of PHP from an OOP perspective.
  • Knowledge and practice of current web markup and client side scripting languages including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (XHR experience a plus).
  • Knowledge and practice of current Internet standards, including Web browsers and browser specifications.
  • Ability to code, test and debug websites and web-based applications using PHP, JavaScript and MySQL (or other RDBMS).
  • Prior experience using a VCS is a plus.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dependable, with excellent organizational skills.
  • Possess good judgment, positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  • This is not a telecommuting position. Incumbent is required to be on site.
  • Attention to detail is required.
